Mazda builds its approach to safety around understanding real-world risk and reducing harm before it happens. On the shoulder, that risk is clear: approaching drivers can come upon a stopped vehicle without warning, risking a secondary crash. Alerting them in advance helps to better protect you and your passengers.
How the Alerts Work
This is how HAAS Alert technology works in Mazda vehicles:
- You request roadside assistance through the MyMazda app or a toll-free call
- A local AAA-affiliated provider is dispatched
- AAA’s roadside system connects with HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud® Protect service
- Approaching drivers in supported markets receive a Slow Down, Move Over alert via connected vehicles or navigation apps
The alert asks them to slow down and move over before they reach you to prevent an incident.
Who Can Use It
This feature is available on all eligible Mazda vehicles with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance. Since the alerts follow automatically from the existing roadside assistance request structure, there’s nothing new you need to learn.
