Switching to hybrid power may seem intimidating, but the charging systems are easy to understand. Find out more about how to charge your new 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV below, or visit us at Green Mazda to find out more about electric power today.

Level 1 Charging

If this is your first plug-in hybrid or electric car, Level 1 Charging will probably be where you start charging at home. All you need to do for this level of charging is plug your charging cord into a standard 120-volt grounded wall outlet. Because of the slower speed compared to other charging levels, the best way to charge with a Level 1 charger is to leave your car plugged in overnight.

Level 2 Charging

Level 2 charging stations are easy to find in public, especially with the MyMazda app plotting routes to stations for you, but you can also have one installed at home. You will need a 240-volt wall outlet, the kind usually found in laundry rooms for big appliances. The speed may be worth it, though: the 2024 Mazda CX-70 PHEV can recharge at this level in two to four hours.

Hybrid Advantages

The hybrid powertrain of the 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV means you don’t have to worry about finding a public charging station. You can drive up to 26 miles on electric power before engaging the gasoline engine, which automatically recharges the battery while you drive. Regenerative braking recaptures the energy lost while slowing down and uses it to give you more range, too.
