Because that engine was new for 2021, it is still the top-level engine on the new 2023 model, though it has been tweaked and improved.
Where the new 2023 Mazda3 differentiates itself performance-wise is with the G-Vectoring Control Plus system. This new feature responds to steering inputs with braking adjustments and subtle torque changes.
