If you’re looking for a vehicle with great gas mileage, you can’t go wrong with any Mazda cars. Here’s what to expect from their coupes, sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVS:
MAZDA MX-5 Miata
In addition to being fun to drive, the Mazda MX-5 Miata has great fuel economy for its class: 26 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway.
MAZDA3
The base Mazda3 sedan offers 28 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. Those numbers will change a little with a different engine, transmission, and drivetrain and if choose a hatchback.
MAZDA6
The Mazda6 will give you 26 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway. If you go with a turbocharged engine, those go down to 23/31.
MAZDA CX-30
The Mazda CX-30 is a subcompact SUV that offers 25 MPG in the city and 33 on the highway, which are solid numbers for the class. With all-wheel drive, those numbers are 24/31.
MAZDA CX-3
The gas mileage with the Mazda CX-3 is excellent: 29 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. They drop by two MPG each with all-wheel drive.
MAZDA CX-5
In the compact SUV class, few models can compete with the fuel economy of the Mazda CX-5. It will give you 25 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. Different engines and drivetrains drop those numbers slightly.
MAZDA CX-9
For a midsize SUV, the Mazda CX-9 gets outstanding gas mileage: 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Those also drop by two each with all-wheel drive.
